Δρ. Ιωάννου Μαρία

Μaria graduated from the Athens Law School (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens) and holds a Master in Civil/Business Law and a Ph.D. in Environmental Law and Economics from the same university. 

Maria’s professional background spans top-tier Greek law firms, solo practice and boutique law firms. In 2019, Maria joined Rokas Law Firm as Senior Associate and member of the Energy and Environment Team. Her practice focuses mainly on energy regulatory and transactional issues (e.g. renewable energy and gas projects, energy market participation issues), energy infrastructure and large-scale investment projects. Furthermore, she regularly advises on matters relating to environmental compliance and licensing, as well as environmental liability and sustainability. 

Maria has gained significant experience advising international and local corporate entities on matters such as project development and financing, due diligence checks, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and public procurement.

She is a member of the Athens Bar Association and is qualified to appear before the Appellate Courts.
