Μακρής Γιώργος

George Makris is a senior business editor, press officer and speechwriter with 27 years of experience. He currently works in “AGRICOLA”, newspaper’s “KATHIMERINI” special edition for agbusiness and agtech, and in powergame.gr, the economic and business site of Parapolitika group.  He specializes in politics, economy – business, especially agbusiness, agtech and EU’s Structural Funds and Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

During second half of 2018 he was appointed as an expert in the Committee of Regions of European Union for COR’s Opinion on the new investment program of EU for the forthcoming period 2021-27, called InvestEU.

He holds a masters degree in European Policy and Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business and a bachelor in European Studies. He has attended seminars in the fields “European agriculture” in University of Athens – Jean Monnet Center, “journalism and new media”, “business and communication”. 

He has been member of Greek Federation of Journalists Unions (POESY - Member of European Federation of Journalists and International Federation of Journalists) since 1998 and is among the journalists that took the initiative to create the Greek Association of the European Network of Agricultural Journalists.
